As well as the statutory number plate test, the DVLA recognise that an adequate field of vision is necessary for driving. You must have:
- good peripheral vision on both sides
- no significant defect in the central vision
- binocular horizontal field of vision of at least 120 degrees, with at least 50 degrees on each side of the centre
- no significant field defect either within or encroaching onto the 20 degrees of fixation
